Will Playstation Ever Learn?

I remember when the first generation of the PS2 console had a problem playing PS1 games. I thought they dropped the ball on that one.

Now the first-generation PS3 is having trouble playing PS2 games. Will they ever learn? They had an extra year to produce the console. I guess it is about Profit/Loss ratio. How much are they going to lose on consoles that are flawed. In this case, absolutely nothing. To bad for the early adopters.

I got my eye on a second generation PS3 and I won't have to stand out in the cold for two days to get one! Wait until February if you can.

Apple and Video Games, oh my!

Take a bite of Apple! Everyone else is trying!
Apple getting into the Video Game industry? They sell iTunes, iPods, Movies and TV show downloads, and of course they are getting into the Apple game. They just need to make sure that it is mobile and virtual. Maybe it can be like home phones where you have a base phone and a couple extra phones in the bedrooms.

A main console you play at home and mobile console extensions so everyone can play together and on the Internet? I should sell these ideas, but I would probably have to pay someone to take them :)

Dual Shock the MLG

Now we have the MLG Major League Gaming Pro Circuit. They are paying people to play video games on TV. I watched for a full hour and I don't know if I will ever watch again. Especially the close up cam of a gamers face as they play video games.

At least with Paintball you get to see people get hit by hard objects, super cool. Eating contests? Guys eating 60 hot dogs in 15 minutes, got to love it! Professional Gamers? Maybe if it was virtual dodgeball and the players were hooked up to shocking devices and when they get hit in the game the get shocked, that would be entertaining.

Dual Shock those MLG guys :)

eBay Tips for selling Video Games

After 4 years of selling Video Games on eBay I have learned that it is fun but not a business.

What are the tips I learned?

1. Sell on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evening between 5pm and 10pm EST (Everyone sells on the Weekends and it gets too competitive)

2. Always give feedback. If someone is a good buyer or seller reward them and everyone will do the same thing. Feedback is the most important criteria for a buyer. You can only participate in the ebay powerseller program.

3. Set a real auction and buy now price. Don't start at $.01 because it may sell. It is ok if you only sell 25-50% of your games each week. Just make sure you are getting the optimal amount of profit.

4. Give just enough information to completely inform but not to overwhelm your buyers.

5. Use clear pictures of the actual product. The better the picture the more interested a buyer will be.

6. Offer one type of product at a time, don't list two of the same games unless you know they will sell right away. This will give the buyer an incentive to purchase, thinking it may not be their tomorrow since it is the only one in your store.

7. Use the hot lists from eBay. They take the time to figure out what is selling and what is not. But on the other side of the coin, look for hot sellers before everyone else does.

8. Be prepared for eBay to give up information about the hot categories you find before everyone else. Be pro-active and find hot categories yourself.

9. Always offer Paypal and Money order. Some people don't trust paypal or don't have a checking account. If they use paypal they will pay by paypal.

10. Be very careful about International buyers. I only sold to Canadian buyers. Even though Internaitonal buyers are willing to pay more, shipping is not always 100% reliable.

11. Always thank a person for their purchase and tell them when you are going to send the product and how long it should take.

12. Use boxes for fragile products instead of bubble mailers. Buyers will pay more for boxes. You can get them at Uline for a reasonable price. Use the Wrap Pack for bubble mailers.

Got more tips, let us know.

Resistance: Fall of Man Video Game Review

Resistance: Fall of Man With Cyborgs?

Did these guys live in 1947? Is this part of the Roswell Crash?

Ah, I see! It is set in a frightening, alternate 20th century reality. In mere decades, the Chimera -- a species of unknown origin propagating a virus that converts other life forms into more Chimera -- has overrun Russia and all of Europe. Humanity's hope for survival is slim, and the tide of the battle rests on the shoulders of U.S. Army Ranger, Sgt. Nathan Hale.

Play online! I will be there, look for VideoGameNut and prepare to fall, man!

Got Resistance Fall of Man Cheats?

Playstation 3: eBay or Wait by the Bay

Got Playstation 3?

After standing in line at the Metreon in San Francisco for two days straight, I struggled with either selling my PS3 on eBay or just enjoying the heck out of it. Of course, I kept it. I sat outside for almost three days and I am going to enjoy my PS3. Not too many new games yet but Madden 07 looks pretty good on my 52" Flat Screen!

It is so cool! The rumor is Sony will have more in February or March? For now just go over to your friends house.

Did you sit outside to get a PS3? Share your stories here!
