Double Fusion: Double the In-Game Ads

Double Fusion, a private company that connects advertisers and video game publishers, plans to roll out new technology on Tuesday to allow advertisers to mount last-minute ad campaigns in games the same way they use spot TV ads.
The technology is set to be shown to developers at the Austin Game Developers Conference in Texas starting on Wednesday.
Game designers now designate and hard-code locations for in-game advertising during the development process. After the coding is completed, advertising content can be changed via an Internet connection, but locations for ads cannot be changed or added.
Double Fusion's new program, called fusion.runtime, separates in-game advertising from the development process, allowing developers to create new placements in completed games, including back catalog titles.

Video Game Advertising
Over the years video game advertising has caught on. Similar to in TV and movie advertising, products and brands is placed within game play.
Whether playing Fight Night or on Second Life, advertising is everywhere. Is this ethical? Advertising to teens and our children. Ads targeted at children were regulated during cartoons on Saturday. Is this the way advertisers will get around this regulation?
Will Second Life catch on? Many early adopters have placed advertising with Second Life. We can only wait and see.

Castlevania: Symphone of the Night

Konami's classic 2D adventure game, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, will be 10 years old this year. Unlike a lot of older games, SOTN hasn't seen a multitude of updates and rereleases. The first of two releases planned for 2007 is an emulated version of the original PlayStation game for Xbox Live Arcade. It marks a couple of firsts, such as the first emulated console game to appear on Microsoft's download service. It's also the first game to go over the now-outdated 50MB limit for downloadable Xbox 360 games. Considering the size, scope, and sound contained in Symphony of the Night, that larger size makes sense. It all adds up to a faithful version of a classic game that's just about as fantastic today as it was when it was first released.

God of War II: Stand Alone

More of the gory, over-the-top action you've come to expect from this series; fantastically paced, with some ingenious puzzle designs; scale of some of the levels is unbelievably massive; superb graphics and sound; several more bosses than the first game.
It's hard to imagine a better swan song for the PlayStation 2 than God of War II. Though it's not destined to be the very last game for the system, it doesn't seem likely that anything else will come along in the coming months to trump what God of War II achieves. As the sequel to 2005's megapopular action adventure set within the basic confines of Greek mythology, it continues the agonizing and rage-fueled odyssey of the world's angriest man-god, Kratos, as he goes on another epic vengeance bender. It's an altogether familiar adventure in many ways, with a lot of gameplay mechanics held over that haven't necessarily been improved in any meaningful capacity, but that's not to suggest the game isn't better overall. God of War II is a brilliantly paced, tightly crafted piece of work that's as intelligently designed as it is thrilling to play. In short, it's exactly what you would want from a sequel to God of War.

Wii it's Excite Truck from Nintendo

You're cruising through the woods, intently focused on the goal. With your fingers crossed tight, you speed past opponents and in between trees, hoping you can finish the day without another wreck. Having speeds in great excess of the limit, you launch off hills and mountains like Tony Hawk flies off ramps. You soar over the world and all its glory – the trees, the lake, and countless man-made structures. Bridges, which are typically crossed, act as a danger zone that, if enough air has been gained, will be crossed over with ease.
Though your eyes are much too busy to see everything the first time, you notice a cluster of hills up ahead. As harmless to your vehicle as the situation may be, there's something about it that raises a red flag. All things likely, you know that one of the hills will slow you down. CYou couldn't possibly gain enough air. There's little hope. Your opponents might catch up.

The Matrix Path of Neo: I am Ready for a New Matrix Game, You?

A total of fifty levels allow the player to participate in many of the major action scenes from the films. Most of these sequences, picked by the movie directors themselves,[2] are taken from the first film in the series.
At the start of the game, the player is hacker Thomas Anderson, and does not possess any of the powers that the character will later discover as Neo. As the game continues, players learn new skills and techniques, equipping Neo for the final showdown with Agent Smith. These additional skills may be learned both in training levels and in the main game. Many of these skills are used by Neo in the trilogy, including the bullet dodge, bullet stop, and flight. A number of weapons are available in the game, consisting of both melee weapons (including various types of swords, staffs, and escrimas) and firearms (assault rifle, submachine gun, pistol etc).

Super Bowl Frenzy with Madden 2007
I played Madden 2007 today, and put in the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears, and let it pay the game while I watched. Guess who won? The Colts of course, it was a close game that came down to a field goal with 1 minute left in the game and then the bears throw an interception to win the game. The final score 24-21 Colts.
Good luck to both teams but I think Madden knows who is going to win......

Will Playstation Ever Learn?
I remember when the first generation of the PS2 console had a problem playing PS1 games. I thought they dropped the ball on that one.
Now the first-generation PS3 is having trouble playing PS2 games. Will they ever learn? They had an extra year to produce the console. I guess it is about Profit/Loss ratio. How much are they going to lose on consoles that are flawed. In this case, absolutely nothing. To bad for the early adopters.
I got my eye on a second generation PS3 and I won't have to stand out in the cold for two days to get one! Wait until February if you can.

Dual Shock the MLG
Now we have the MLG Major League Gaming Pro Circuit. They are paying people to play video games on TV. I watched for a full hour and I don't know if I will ever watch again. Especially the close up cam of a gamers face as they play video games.
At least with Paintball you get to see people get hit by hard objects, super cool. Eating contests? Guys eating 60 hot dogs in 15 minutes, got to love it! Professional Gamers? Maybe if it was virtual dodgeball and the players were hooked up to shocking devices and when they get hit in the game the get shocked, that would be entertaining.

eBay Tips for selling Video Games
After 4 years of selling Video Games on eBay I have learned that it is fun but not a business.
What are the tips I learned?
1. Sell on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evening between 5pm and 10pm EST (Everyone sells on the Weekends and it gets too competitive)
2. Always give feedback. If someone is a good buyer or seller reward them and everyone will do the same thing. Feedback is the most important criteria for a buyer. You can only participate in the ebay powerseller program.
3. Set a real auction and buy now price. Don't start at $.01 because it may sell. It is ok if you only sell 25-50% of your games each week. Just make sure you are getting the optimal amount of profit.
4. Give just enough information to completely inform but not to overwhelm your buyers.
5. Use clear pictures of the actual product. The better the picture the more interested a buyer will be.
6. Offer one type of product at a time, don't list two of the same games unless you know they will sell right away. This will give the buyer an incentive to purchase, thinking it may not be their tomorrow since it is the only one in your store.
7. Use the hot lists from eBay. They take the time to figure out what is selling and what is not. But on the other side of the coin, look for hot sellers before everyone else does.
8. Be prepared for eBay to give up information about the hot categories you find before everyone else. Be pro-active and find hot categories yourself.
9. Always offer Paypal and Money order. Some people don't trust paypal or don't have a checking account. If they use paypal they will pay by paypal.
10. Be very careful about International buyers. I only sold to Canadian buyers. Even though Internaitonal buyers are willing to pay more, shipping is not always 100% reliable.
11. Always thank a person for their purchase and tell them when you are going to send the product and how long it should take.
12. Use boxes for fragile products instead of bubble mailers. Buyers will pay more for boxes. You can get them at Uline for a reasonable price. Use the Wrap Pack for bubble mailers.
